Vop river, 120 km E of Vyazma: As part of the initial phase of "Operation Typhoon", the LVI Corps had orders to break through the Soviet defensive line on the northern wing of Army Group Center. The 6th Panzer Division had established a small bridgehead over the Vop river, in preparation for the planned breakthrough attempt. German recon reported a Russian tank brigade in the area and some Guards Katjuschas hidden in the woods. In this scenario an additional Russian Tank Brigade arrives at the scene. [Size, small]

It is amusing to play the Russian as an exercise in masochism. Otherwise, it's really not worth playing. Some effort went into the design but it needs to be played with all the alt fire & assault rules and not the default optional rules.
I would play this one again if the victory conditions allowed for a German loss. I don't see that ever happening.
Scenario seems to heavily favor Axis, should definitely be played with the Delayed Disruption Report Option on which we didn't use. Too easy for the germans when they can see when the artillery has D'd the russians and then target another unit.
