Teploye, 80km south of Tula, Nov 2nd 1941: General Guderian had several reports of Russian units arriving from the east, in view of this, he felt compelled to use LIII Korps (minus 56th ID) as a flank guard facing east. As the Korps' leading elements approached Teploye, they were surprised to run into the enemy. This turned out to be a strong Russian force with elements from 3 to 5 Rifle and 2 Cavalry Divisions, plus a tank brigade in support. It was assumed that this force was enroute to attack the flank and rear of XXIV Pz Korps. Both sides were equally surprised, and a long drawn out battle was fought over the next several days before the arrival of XXIV Korp's armor tipped the balance in favor of the Germans. [Size, medium] Designer's Note: This battle has been condensed to 4 days.

two days of storms made this one a snooze fest.
It appears this scenario wasn't balanced at all for PBEM. Objective point values are low, and the German victory values are unattainable. The only way for the Germans to win is to kill huge numbers of Russians and the Germans don't have the strength to do that. Even when the German reinforcements come in, they are insufficient to tip the scales in favor of the Germans
One of the most one-sided scenarios I have played. As the German player it took only 5 turns to figure out that there is no way the Germans can get anywhere a draw, never mind a win. The mud and storms limits any movement, while the Germans are horribly outnumbered. A terrible scenario for PBEM.
Totally in favour of the Russians
