Moscow area, Nov 15th 1941: The main event, or the most serious of all the drives for Moscow was delivered by PzAOK.3 and PzAOK.4 amassed directly in front of Moscow. It was these panzer forces that continued to claw their way forward to the very outskirts of the Soviet capital. The operation was doomed to failure for a multitude of reasons, not the least of which was the weather. However as you will see in this scenario, large amounts of fresh Russian troops were still within the path of the German Army driving for the Kremlin. This scenario is a shortened campaign in this central sector with an end date of 27 November. This date was chosen because the attacking German is heavily outnumbered anyway and after this date the Soviets continue getting more reinforcements leading eventually to the historical outcome where the attacking initiative is lost to the Soviet counter offensive. How as the Russians you get a major win I have no idea
This is not an exciting match, there are no slashing mobile operations, and the Russians will lose where ever they choose to stand. But with patience they can slowly grind the Class A and B Germans to powder with their artillery and even air power. Do not try and play the Russians as anything but what they are and you can win with them.
This is more of a playable documentary then a back and forth strategic challenge. It is great for what it is, and really lets you understand the struggle of a advance in the worst winter of the war.
