Don River bend, 125 kms W of Stalingrad, July 24th 1942:The drive by the German 6th Army into the great Don River bend, aimed at Kalach, had pocketed a number of Soviet formations around the town of Mayorovskiy. These units were placed under the command of Col. Zhuravlev. These units did, in fact, break out to the east. Can you break out, with the assistance of the two tank corps, and force your way to the east? [Size, medium] Designer's Note: This scenario has been optimized for HTH play.

I really liked it, many options to consider, destined to be a classic
A very intriguing scenario with three distinct Russian groups at the outset and Germans scattered everywhere. One of the most interesting scenarios I've played, with several options for each player.
stock scenario has the russian 34s at C quality
A lot going on in this one. Both sides have several choices on how to proceed. Our game came down to the last roll of the dice. Very good scenario.
An exciting and interesting scenario with the Germans trying to contain and neutralize the encircled Soviet formations while fending off a Russian tank corps attempting to break through from the East. Both sides will simultaneously be on the attack and adopting defense postures throughout the game. The Germans must aggressively attack, advance, and encircle any individual Russian units while keeping defense lines intact. Careful management of artillery and keeping the gun tubes within range of the rapidly shifting front lines is critical to German success. Between equal players this is a balanced scenario with either side able to achieve victory. A "must play" Stalingrad '42 scenario with several offensive and defensive options available to each player!

Opportunities for both sides to attack and defend...although would recommend Alt version as a better choice...
The Russian player must focus on the objectives. A few turns of not doing so is the difference between victory and defeat.
