Borisov, 75 km NE of Minsk, Jun 29th 1944: The German High Command rushed the 5.Panzer Division to Borisov to try to stop the hordes of Soviet tanks rushing westwards. It was imperative to hold on to the Berezina bridge here, as the remnants of 4th Army were expected to cross it soon. In truth, the Soviets were already over the Berezina and swarming to the north of Borisov. "What If" the Soviets could not bypass Borisov and had to take it frontally? [Size, small] Designer Note: This is a "What If" scenario based loosely on the historical situation. This scenario has been optimized for HTH play. *This scenario has been approved at H2H Productions*

Nice scenario balance *Spoiler Alert*(except for one MAJOR flaw which makes a new German opponent want to smash his monitor near the end of the game) between the formidable Panther unit against the horde of useful T-34/85's. Soft ground conditions make it virtually impossible for the Russian to win, but when normal conditions prevail, the mobility of the Russian armor and the ability of the infantry to close assault makes it a much better battle. *Spoiler Alert* Now for the MAJOR FLAW...whoever the genius is that decided that it would be "cool" to have those Russian units enter the game on the other side of the river near the end should be placed in a closed room with the German victim who had a close hard fought draw turned into a loss because he did not check the scenario out before he played. (not mentioning any names...)

Moderately pro-Axis because of the variability of reinforcements that come behind the river. If late, that's 150 vp that the Soviet probably just can't get.

Would be an OK scenario but I think the victory conditions should be tweaked: The Russian player immidiately takes 250 points worth of victory locations and I think the loss Kholmhchina is also inevitable (thats another 150 points).

Thats altogether 350 VPs and Rus minor victory starts from 400.

This basically means that the Russian dont even have to touch Borisov to achive victory.
