0718_01a: Battle of Maidstone [HTH]_Alt - PzC 18 Sealion 40

Maidstone, 25 miles SE of London, July 18th 1940 (S+6):The German build up at the channel ports had gone well for the first few days, then the weather had delayed the arrival of some second wave units. After a hole had been punched in the flimsy coastal defense, the Germans were eager to push any armor they had landed to maintain their momentum. So, parts of 3rd Panzer were to thrust astride the A20 road to London, their task was to break through the GHQ Line, in the vicinity of Maidstone, and on to Sevenoaks, if possible. Although it had been pretty easy for 3Pz so far, ahead of them were the best equipped troops the British had, New Zealanders and Canadians stood in their path.
