Eastern Dorsal, Jan 18th 1943:
Two small French operations had left them in control of the Karachoum Gap and the Kairouan Pass, both led onto the coastal plain. The Axis saw these as developing threats to this part of the bridgehead. Therefore von Arnim decided to kill several birds with one stone. He wished to gain control of Jebel Mansour, overlooking the main water source for Tunis, and clear any of the small French outposts from the Eastern Dorsal, all the way south to Ousseltia. This was to ensure control of the passes through which any attack would have to be mounted by a physical presence on the hills, so he was careful not to over extend his attack. A purely diversionary attack on the British positions around Bou Arada would signal the start of the operation. [Size, large]
Designer Note: This version of the scenario is intended to be played as Axis human.
