Scenario Briefing: After the initial breakout from the beachhead, the US First Army was poised to extend their advance and by Y+11, after having received replacements, launched their offensive towards Tokyo.
The US Army 7th Division, along with a regiment of the 27th Division, had isolated the Tokyo Bay Group's 354th Division in the Boso Peninsula. Their task was to keep them separated from the main army while the "main show" unfolded.
Meanwhile, the 4th Marine Division continued their assault on the Japanese forces of the 52nd Army which had fallen back to Choshi. That operation is winding down as the battle opens and the USMC division (less one regiment performing garrison and flank guard duties) will be available for operations on the 13th.
The main offensive would kick off on the 12th of March featuring the 1st and 6th USMC Divisions on the right wing along with the US Army 27th Division less one regiment and the 96th Division on the left wing.
The battered Japanese infantry divisions of the 52nd Army along with the 4th Tank Division, 93rd Infantry Division and the 96th Independent Mobile Brigade would be all they had to stop the Allied forces from reaching the Kanto Plain and linking up with the Eighth Army.
