Scenario Briefing: The Russian advance on Zhitomir was closing in on the city. The 8th Panzer Division was scrambling to hold off the 1st Guards Cavalry Division while the Kavallerie-Regt Süd screened the left flank from the approaching forces of the remainder of the 1st Guards Cavalry Corps. The Germans have to play for time and deny the city to the Russians for as long as possible.

Exciting and tense smaller battle. The Limited Objectives feature encourages the German player to hold objectives until they expire and then to fall back to other defensive terrain. Both sides have high fatigue levels to overcome and mud conditions are a challenge for the Russians to keep their offensive from stalling. Good replay value. I will be playing this one again!

A challenging scenario for Russian side. It's crucial to hold one of the objectives in Zhitomir which expires near the end of the game.

Germans are outnumbered and in a bad shape. The soviet player needs a few turns to mount and offense, which gives the german player time to fall back. VPs expire quite early, as the russians have to fight soft conditions.
It did come down to the last turns, as my opponent still had the chance for a minor victory.

Tough one for the Soviets, especially the bad weather slows things down considerably, and if the Germany player does not make any major mistakes, it´s very hard to reach any objective on time.

Soviet supply levels causes constraints with HQ's out of command and artillery unavailable. Soviet troops go low ammo making them vulnerable to easy disruption even though the German units have high fatigue at start. German units that can conduct a good fighting withdrawal will have a good chance of a minor German victory.
If Soviets can overcome their difficulties, the game will be a close run one.
Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything.
