Scenario Briefing: Following the battle to clear the upper Leyte Valley, the Sixth army pushed on in early November to drive on to the upper Ormoc Valley. Standing in the way of the entrance to the valley was "Breakneck Ridge," the northern edge of the central mountain range on the island of Leyte.
The newly arrived 57th Infantry Regiment of the Japanese 1st Infantry Division had arrived and was entrenched up on the ridge when the 19th and 21st Regimental Combat Teams of the US 24th Infantry Division began their assault on November 7th.
The fighting was bitter, the terrain was a mixture of mud, jungle, forest and ravines. The US forces had inaccurate maps meaning that many of the platoons stumbled upon defensive positions resulting in additional casualties.
On the 8th, a typhoon struck further turning the countryside into a morass, grounding the air units and dampening the effects of the artillery fire. Despite the weather, the men of the 24th Infantry Division continued their assault on 57th Infantry Regiment and by the 9th had captured the northern edge of the ridge and had pressed on a mile to the west.
The Japanese would control the upper part of Breakneck Ridge until the 14 November when by that time the ridge had been captured.

Between hurricane's and American supply issues it's a wonder I survived at all!! The Japanese defensive positions are way to strong. Personally this scenario needs a ton of work to even give the US troops a chance!
Scenario was a total sleeper as when a never ending storm rolled in, and lasted half the battle, nothing happened as the Americans could do nothing due to the mud conditions and poor visibility. This scenario could possibly be a fun scenario if the weather was not in it and it took place in "ideal weather conditions".
