Scenario Briefing: The US 7th Division had advanced a battalion to Baybay on the west coast of Leyte in early November but it was not until later in the month that the rest of the division could move to join them. The goal was to drive north to Ormoc up the west coast and take the main port on the island and join hands with the X Corps which was driving south through the Ormoc Valley.
Meanwhile, the Japanese had shipped the 26th Division to Leyte and once they arrived they moved south from Ormoc to attack the US forces along the coast. This scenario depicts the first attack by the Japanese to dislodge the 7th Division from the hills north of Damulaan where the US forces were dug in and ready to hold until relieved.
Player's Note: The 11th Independent IR held the coastal line and played no part in the assault. They are included for historical purposes and take no part in the battle.
