Scenario Briefing: I Corps, Sixth US Army, had come ashore on the 9th of January on Blue and White Beaches to light opposition which quickly faded to the rear after destroying key bridges, and had set up a beachhead perimeter by the evening of the 10th. With the 25th Infantry Division and 13th Armored Brigades due to arrive on the 11th, the I Corps was poised to launch a cautious advance to the south, east and north.
Of the two US Corps to land at Lingayen Gulf, I Corps had the tougher mission in that it had to engage the large Shobu Group's forces dug in not far from the beaches. In particular, the 43rd Infantry Division, on the left flank, would have the hardest assignment. They had to contain the Japanese forces assembled to their front while the rest of the corps did a large wheel to the south and east.
This scenario portrays the first three days of the offensive to take the key objectives by the 43rd Infantry Division and disrupt Route 3, the Japanese main route to Manila.
Notes:
1. The Victory Objectives will expire and be counted for the Player Side that holds them at that time so be sure to check for the turns when that will happen.
2. Kamikaze Attacks: The US capital ships (BBs, CAs, CLs) have a Withdrawal 1% percentage with the exception of HMAS Australia which has 5% due to previous damage from Kamikaze strikes.
Recommended Rules: [Default]
Alternative Assault Resolution, Artillery Set Up, Recon Spotting, Virtual Supply Trucks, Low Visibility Air Effects, Quality Fatigue Modifier, Counterbattery Fire, Night Fatigue, Programmed Weather, Limited Air Recon.
