Intended for Head-to-Head or Solo Play as Allies vs. AI

Scenario Briefing: This scenario covers the first two months of the Luzon campaign. It starts with the Allies already ashore for two days and having pushed out from the landing beaches. The goal of the Allies is to take Clark Air Base and Manila and other significant locations and destroy as many Japanese units as possible.

Notes:

1. There is a large number of fixed Japanese units in order to accurately portray the defensive nature of the plan formed by General Yamashita and his staff. The Japanese forces will release either by "Trigger" or on set dates. Historically, the Japanese were set on a defensive campaign. For those that want a less restrictive setup play the variant scenario which features earlier release times.

2. The Allied naval units will eventually be withdrawn during the scenario to reflect commitments elsewhere or battle damage.

3. Initially only the Japanese can use the railroad but by February this will change with the situation reversed whereby the Allies will be the only side to be able to use them.

4. US Naval units in Lingayen Gulf will either individually withdrawal (due to Kamikaze damage) or as a group by 16 January when their mission for the campaign had ended.

5. The "Early Scenario Termination" rule is in effect for this scenario.

The players should read the Design Notes for this scenario to gain further insight into the reasoning behind the setup and other details that affect the forces in this campaign.
