Scenario Briefing: With the perimeter secure, the XIV Corps advanced on Clark Field with the 40th Infantry Divsiion on the right and the 37th Infantry Division in the south. The 40th encountered stiff resistance as they ascended the hills to the northwest of the airfield which would be indicative of the fighting to come.
Meanwhile, the 37th moved west into the airfield proper and eventually cleared the various airstrips by the evening of the 30th taking Fort Stotsenberg in the process.
The US forces had captured the airfields but still had to take artillery positions in the hills before the airfield could be considered secure.
