Date: January 31, 1945 - Size: Small - Location: Nasugbu, 97 kilometers southwest of Manila, South Central Luzon Island, Philippines
Intended for Solo Play as Allies vs. AI.
Scenario Briefing: In an attempt to keep the Japanese off balance, the 11th Airborne Division, plus additional forces in the form of elements of the 19th RCT and other assets, was to be landed southwest of Manila at the beaches west of Nasugbu. The two Glider Infantry Regiments would land and then drive east and link up with the 511th Para Infantry Regiment which would drop just north of Tagaytay Ridge and then the division was tasked with clearing the area of the forces of the Fiji Force.
The size of the Japanese force had been underestimated and so the drop of the 511th PIR was delayed until the 3rd of February. Realizing that they had a prime opportunity to drive on Manila, the 511th drove north from their dropzone, once resistance had collapsed on the ridge, and the race was on for Manila.
The Japanese will be reinforced during the battle by elements of the Fiji Force. The forces located in south Manila and its environs are static and will only be available for defensive purposes.
Recommended Rules: [Default]
Alternative Assault Resolution, Artillery Set Up, Recon Spotting, Virtual Supply Trucks, Low Visibility Air Effects, Quality Fatigue Modifier, Counterbattery Fire, Night Fatigue, Programmed Weather, Limited Air Recon.
