Date: March 6, 1945 - Size: Campaign - Location: Northern Luzon Island, Philippines
Intended for Head-to-Head Play
Scenario Briefing: This campaign scenario covers all of the combat of the northern campaign from early March through to the end of July in a "compressed format." Rather than have two large northern Luzon campaign scenarios we opted for one with the result that reinforcements arrive sooner than they did historically. This is to work around the problem of "down time" where operations were halted.
The scenario is approximately two-fifths of the length of the historical period of time. For instance: A regiment that arrived in early June would arrive around April 10th. The historical consolidation of the Japanese 2nd Tank Division into a "provincial formation" has been handled so that the actual units fight for one month (and probably will melt away) and then the new formation appears as a reinforcement.
Note: the "Early Scenario Termination" rule is in effect for this scenario.
The players should read the Design Notes for this scenario to gain further insight into the reasoning behind the setup and other details that affect the forces in this campaign.
Recommended Rules: [Default]
Alternative Assault Resolution, Artillery Set Up, Recon Spotting, Virtual Supply Trucks, Low Visibility Air Effects, Quality Fatigue Modifier, Counterbattery Fire, Night Fatigue, Programmed Weather, Limited Air Recon.
