Date: March 10, 1945 - Size: Medium - Location: 87 km SW of Budapest.

Intended for Soviet player.

Scenario Briefing: On March 10, terrible weather and terrain conditions made the advance west of the Sarviz slow. The I SS-Panzer Corps, reinforced by the fresh 23rd Panzer Division, aimed to capture the crossings over the Sio Canal: Ozora, Simontornya and Cece as a necessary first step before the assault on the Simontornya Hills, which were the highest area dominating the supply lines in the area.
The 12th SS-Panzer Division continued its painful advance towards Ozora and, after assisting in the capture of Mezoszilas advanced during the night to assist in the capture of Igar, three kilometers northwest of Simontornya together with the 1st SS-Panzer Division.
The latter division continued its advance toward Simontornya, which was partially captured on March 13 in a fierce urban battle.
The 23rd Panzer Division fought for almost three days to capture Saregres in a brutal fight against the stubborn Russian defenders who retreated to the outskirts of Cece.
Nevertheless, despite these gains there was little doubt that the 6th Panzer Army’s offensive was losing its momentum. The II SS-Panzer Corps had been decisively halted, and Priess’s I SS-Panzer Corps was now up against four infantry divisions backed by a cavalry corps and two SU anti-tank brigades. The fact that these divisions were understrength was relatively unimportant, for the ground they were holding was ideal for defense and totally unsuitable for an attacking armored formation.
The 12th SS-Panzer Division managed to secure the railway bridge west of Simontornya and pushed into the hills behind Simontornya. The Soviets launched numerous attacks against the Sio River bridgehead, but the Germans held out and captured Mosi Hill, the farthest advance reached by the German offensive. The next day Vienna Offensive Operation was launched, forcing the withdrawal of the I SS-Panzer Corps.

Design Note: Axis artillery suffered from shortages of fuel and prime movers, hence these units are fixed until March 13.
