Description: Shortly after arriving in Europe, the USMC's 10th Marine Regiment was rushed into action against the 8th Motorized Rifle Division which had managed to punch its way through to the Rhine. With their supply lines stretched by the advance and continuously attacked by NATO aircraft, the East German division was forced to pause on the banks of the river. Seizing the opportunity, the Marines launched an assault across the river and came under immediate and sustained fire from the entrenched enemy. It was a murderous affair, but the Marines remained steadfast and continued to push across the swift-flowing river...
