CENTRAL CITY, STALINGRAD, RUSSIA, 0200 15 SEPT 1942.
The Germans had captured the Rail Station during the day. Russian Senior Lieutenant Anton Dragan's 1st Rifle Company was tasked with taking it back.
Under cover of darkness, Dragan's men moved forward and attacked the station; the fighting raged hand to hand, but Dragan's Guards captured the station and held it against repeated German counter-attacks. The Germans would try again during daylight.
