Brody-Dubno area, 40km SW of Rovno: [Modified for Human play by P. Baker] The largest tank battle in history up until Operation Citadel took place in the early days of Barbarossa between the German First Panzer Group and 4 Soviet mechanized Corps in the south of Russia. After four days of fierce fighting involving over 1500 tanks, the Russians break off the engagement. The 2nd panzer Regiment, however, out for blood, pursues the battle-weary remnants of the Soviet 34th Tank Division. As the Panzers prepare to strike at first light the Russian Bear turns, still full of fight!

Bleh! Awful! Truly not worth playing.

The game is balanced. Its easy to under estimate the German strength.

Totally differing opinions of this scenario. The Allied player felt it was finely tuned, balance-wise, and that the German forces shouldn't be under-estimated. The Axis player felt that the OOB gave the Russian armor both a massive quantitative superiority, as well as a qualitative superiority, that made an Allied victory in this scenario much more likely than an Axis one. In fact, the Axis player believed that the best outcome that the Axis player could hope for was a draw.

Will not play this scenario again, as either side.
John Given
The scenario depicts a heavy Soviet armored column crashing into an unfortified German position. It's pure murder (and the axis player's misfortune) and with the axis player having to be extremely lucky and cautious to pull even a draw out of this one. Says balanced for PBEM in the description, but it really isn't. However, it's not as lopsided as the original.
Thus, what is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy's strategy.

Tough fight for the 16th Panzer.. those KVs and t34s just mop up every mess the Germans try to make happen.

Interesting little battle with good H2H playability.
