After the failure to take Warsaw with armored units, the 4. PzDiv took positions to the west of Warsaw. They found themselves fighting against Polish units trying to break out from Warsaw and other units attacking to relieve the trapped units inside the town. On the 12 September, units from Leibstandarte, attached to 4. PzDiv, were attacked from the west and urgently called for reinforcements. II./36 PzRgt and II./ IR 33 ,together with AA7 and Pi 62 were thrown into the battle and counterattacked. [email protected]
