A Lesson Well Learned - The Matrix Games version of East Front II

Hypothetical Scenario - Axis ally Finland, has tried to remain out of the war with the Red army but Stalin fears their close presence on his northern border. Taking to heart lessons learned the hard way in their first foray into Finland a few years earlier, the Russians have chosen a more suitable time of year for their attack and they have properly supplied and equipped their invading army. The goal is to capture the city of Viipuri (known to the Russians as Vyborg), and force the Finns to sue for peace. Both the Germans and the Finns realize this attack is inevitable but there is little they can do. Protecting Viipuri is the 53rd Mountain infantry regiment, reinforced with a menagerie of captured tanks and worn out German equipment. The Germans themselves are represented with the poorly equipped 20th Infantry regiment and several attached armored units. Outmanned and outgunned, they must hold the line against the heavily reinforced 426th Rifle Division the Russians are committing.
