Yelista, Southern Russia, 200 km S of Stalingrad: [Best played against Human opponent] After the encirclement of the Sixth Army at Stalingrad, the Red Army was trying to cut off Army Group A in the Caucasus. The main attack was planned near Chir River, but the secondary attack was to be performed by 24th Army near Yelista. Only force occupying this area was 16th Motorized Division of the 4th Panzer Army. This division was holding 150 km flank of the Army Group A. Hitler, while refusing to order Army Group A to abandon the Caucasus, ordered 16th Motorized Division to hold its ground at Yelista. This overextended division was the only force holding the Red Army from cutting off 400,000 Germans in the Caucasus!
