*** Historical Scenario *** Ilinskoye, 100 km SW of Moscow Typhoon is well on its way, the pocket of Wyasma already closed, 4th Army heading for Moscow along the highway Yuchnov- Medyn-Podolsk. At Ilinskoye the Soviets had built the so-called Moshaisk-Defense-Line part of the Moscow Protective Line.Thousands of people had been working to build 3 of these concentric lines the outer along the Wypranka-Lusha, one along the Protwa and one at the outer Moscow highway ring to slow down the German steamroller and buy some time for the transfer of the Sibirian units. The 3 ID (mot) was unable to breakthrough in its first attack at Ilinskoye. 19th Panzerdivision tried another approach to the south, being able to establish a bridgehead and even break out eastward to Tsherkassovo at the highway. But that was only half the task, still the Russian Proletarian Army held Ilinskoye and by this the vital bridge across the Wypranka. After days of heavy fighting and enormes losses the resistance was broken. This is a scenario for Bunker Busters.

There is much work needed on this scenario. Russians frozen most of the game. Germans, who can't find a suitable spot to cross the river without going through terrible terrain. Brings this game to a snail pace which will probably need most of the 36 turns to get a result. It makes for a boring game, no, I would say sluggish play. You come to the point, hoping it will end soon.

It does illustrate how the germans were slowed by the increased Russian defenses pretty well. But its a hard one to enjoy.
