Hypothetical Scenario in Western Ukraine [best played versus human opponent]. With the collapse of Army Group Center, Army Group North Ukraine's lines are pushed back as well nearing the borders of Poland and Hungary. Hot on the heels of the retreating Germans is the 24th Guards Tank Corps. Ordered to drive hard and fast to give the Germans no respite to form another line of defense. In thier way is Kampfgruppe Mendl from the 24th Panzer Division. Oberst Mendl is given daul orders, to hold the Russians for as long as possible giving ground slowly and to save as much as his force as possible. With these orders in mind Mendl sets is blocking force astride the roads and hills waiting for the onrushing Guardsmen in an effort to Delay the Russian Bear!

Potentially difficult scenario for the axis to win - the axis is heavily outnumbered, and the germans are infantry-poor as well. German artillery is very good, but with flat terrain, and large numbers of t-34 tanks, they have the option of simply overrunning the Germans.
Thus, what is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy's strategy.
