**Enforcing The Line EF:FB 11 February 1940 [Lahde, Finland, 40 km SE from Viipuri] [H2H] [WIF] [GD] [ALL: N VV OPT: AF EA] In this Historical What-If scenario, the Anglo-French Expeditionary Force arrives to Karelian Isthmus to enforce the Mannerheim line at the height of a Red Army offensive. Changes include combat engineers, more tanks and improved moreale for Russian player. It was required to migrate the Russians to Axis side, to allow for Allied French, UK to join the now Allied Finnish forces. Swedish fighter pilot volunteers from Lapland with their Gloster Gladiators are here to make a couple of sorties as well as the new Fokker D.21s, MS.406s and Blenheim Mk I:s. Finns also receive a few of the new Molotov cocktail units now available in LWM 1.1 to have something other than rocks to throw at the Sovier armour, aimed at Cracking The Line. -- Alternative History / What-if, with inspiration and map from the D.Bevard stock scenario 'Cracking The Line': -- Cracking The Line Lahde Finland, 40km SE of Viipuri: [Best played against Human opponent] Regardless of the Finnish victories and Soviet setbacks in the first month of the Winter War, it was still a matter of 130,000 poorly equipped Finn's facing 465,000 Russians. By February attrition was beginning to have its effect on the Finnish troops and their ranks were progressively thinning, while the Red Army rotated fresh units to the front for every significant attack. But still the Mannerheim Line held. After weeks of probing the Soviets were ready to launch another assault. Between Lake Summa Jarvi and the Munasuo Swamp, east of Summa, were two modern bunker complexes named "Poppius" and "Million," defended by elements of the 9th Infantry Regiment. On February 11th, while other Soviet Divisions continued to apply pressure across the Isthmus, the 254th/123rd Rifle Regiment launched an attack to clear the bunkers and the road to Lahde. The fighting raged throughout the day but in the end the Finn's could not hold and the Mannerheim Line was cracked wide open! -- [Requires players to install EF: Forgotten Battles version 1.3 or newer] [Scandinavian Terrain sub mod recommended to be enabled when playing this scenario.]
