Zamosche, 15km W of Novgorod: [Best played against Human opponent or as Axis] By the end of January, the Russians had managed to blast a passage through the Axis defensive line along the Volkov River north of Novgorod. As the Soviet spearheads pushed ever westward, they left pockets of isolated Germans behind them. One such island of resistance was at Mal. Zamosh'e, where about 140 Germans of the 126 Infantry Division awaited help, too weak to attempt a breakout through the resusitated 305th Rifle division. The call went out once again for the Spaniards of the "Blue Division" for help. At 0930, together with elements of the 126 Divison, the Spaniards trudged off in -10 degrees Celsius, waist-deep drifts, and snow flurries. Could the beleaguered garrison be rescued?

Half strength Soviet troopers, that already do not fire well, get annihilated by Spanish and Germans.
