Titovka, 130km SE of Minsk: [Best played against Human opponent] By June of 1944 the Red Armies were on the move again and this time their goal was the destruction of Germany's Army Group Center. For the Germans, Hitler's strategy of "fortified localities" had begun to collapse and all initiative had been lost. In an attempt to spread their dwindling resources as far as possible, commanders in the field formed "Fire Brigades," or armored Kampfgruppe's that could be rushed to threatened areas to try and control the Red Flood. East of the Bobruysk Bridge at Titovka one such formation, Kampfgruppe Schulze from the 20th Panzer Division, waited for instructions to move against the Russian 48th Army which had cut the Mogilev-Bobruysk highway. But no such orders arrived from the almost paralyzed German command structure. Finally its commander, Major Paul Schulze, acting on his own initiative hurled his group northeast toward Podrechye where they clashed with the Russian reinforced 202nd Tank Brigade.
Classic EF scenario design where the Germans have a marked advantage out of the gate.
best played with a quality OPP for max enjoyment.
