Gross-Klonia, SW of Tuchel, 270km NW of Warsaw, Poland: [Best played against Human opponent] September brought an onslaught by the German war machine to Poland. In the north, as part of the German 4th Army, General Heinz Guderian commanded the XIX Army Corps with the 2nd and 20th Motorized Infantry Divisions and the 3rd Panzer Division. It was Guderian's chance to prove the value of the armored forces and justify all the hard work and training which had gone into developing them. The first serious fighting for Guderian's panzer troops took place on September 2nd southwest of Tuchel, around the village of Gross-Klonia. As the early morning mist began to lift, the leading elements of the 3rd Pz Division suddenly found themselves face to face with a number of Polish tanks, cavalry and elements of the 61st Regiment/15 Infantry Division. The inexperienced Germans were surprised, allowing the determined Polish anti-tank gunners to score many direct hits and draw "First Blood" before their superior training and equipment won the day.

Difficult for Poles to match German tanks and firepower.

Against equal players, German should win majority of the games.

Nice firefight.

Hard for the Poles to match the Germans' firepower, mobility and armor. All the Poles have going for them is a decent defensive position and their artillery.

I think it is a good scenario to demonstrate mobility warfare VS static warfare.

I needed to be quicker. Fell prey to excellent allied defensive positions and not enough time to overcome them.
Resolve then, that on this very ground, with small flags waving and tinny blasts on tiny trumpets, we shall meet the enemy, and not only may he be ours, he may be us. --Walt Kelly

With two equally capable players, the Axis player is likely to win. Axis player has a lot more armor and infantry with better firepower. Allied player has better artillery, powerful anti-tank guns and good defensive positions. Allied player also has to find a way to leverage his cavalry to delay and harass the Axis player.
