Seelow, 65km E of Berlin: [Best played against Human opponent] At the end of March 1945, Stalin became alarmed at the progress the Americans and British were making east of the Rhine River. He ordered the Red Armies poised along the Oder River to regroup and resume the offensive into Germany. Zhukov's main forces were to attack from the Kustrin Bridgehead along the highway to Berlin, but the task confronting him was not without difficulties. The Oder River was behind the attackers but the ground ahead was low and marshy. The German defenses in this area were well developed along the slopes of the heavily defended heights above the village of Seelow, stretching 20 kilometers to the Oder River. Following an early morning assault, which failed to penetrate the German defenses, the 11th Guards Heavy Tank Brigade equipped with JS-II tanks, attacked just as darkness was beginning to close in. Waiting for them were elements of Goring's inexperienced 9th Parachute Division, dug in along the highway and supported by tank destroyers and deadly 88s!

Soviet action determines Axis defense. Axis must concentrate their inf out of LOS and also pull back their ATG's and 88's to positions of short LOS where they will be most effective. The few Axis SP guns must play scoot & shoot tactics. Usr arty to slow down Soviet inf.
Tougher fight for the Germans, but the Soviets certainly have their weaknesses in this scenario that need to be exploited by the Germans for them to have a chance of winning.
This is a good scenario but with the new assault rules the length of the scenario is not long enough now with the original design intent. Must be rebalanced for optimal play.
I liked it better with Extreme assault.
