Go for the Bridges! - The Matrix Games version of East Front II

***Historical Scenario*** After breaking the last defense at Ilinskoye the next major objectives for 19. Panzer Division on the way to Moscow were some important bridges. Taking these bridge across the Protwa and Istra intact was mandatory for a further fast advance. Panzer Regiment 27 was the right unit for this risky task . As all organized resistance evaporated after the Moshaisk-Defense-Line was broken, II/27 rushed forward ignoring all minor local resistance brushed aside the defenders of Malojaroslavets rolled down the road to the Protwa among retreeting and fleeing Soviet troups. As no real defense seemed to exist they decided to go on to the Istra and take Werbiye. They managed to take the bridge and hold it against growing pressure from numerous units flung against them in a desperate attempt to eliminate this threat. (scenario notes: a really severe problem the Germans faced in Typhoon was the sheer number of rivers and streams that lay in the approach to Moscow, and the Soviets managed not rarely to destruct the only bridge in a circle of several kilometers)
