Skardupiai, 16 km SW of Wilkowischken, Baltic States: [Best played against human opponent] Yesterday, Panzergrenadiers of the II./ Panzergrenadierregiment "Grossdeutschland" have secured the town of Skardupiai and held it against strong counterattacks. But this was only part of the mission! The main objective lies furhter north : the highway to Wilkowischken! Once this objective is secured, the effort to reestablish contact with Heeresgruppe Nord will have made some progress. But the Soviets have not given up yet! The remainder of their forces have pulled back to better positions across the Zaciriti river and are certainly awaiting reinforcements! But so are the Germans.......

Bizarre Russian OOB. I counted over 25 Russian commanders at one time on the map. Several commanders start on board without any units under their command. Commanders are named after their unit formations and do not have proper names. Over abundance of HQ's (Battalion, brigade, regimental) for size of map. As Russian, I spent a lot of time trying to "hide" my huge number of commanders and HQ's! Several terrain chock points, funnel Axis advances along a few avenues, making the Russian defending job easier. Also, there are bridges that can't handle heavy armor, farther limiting any Axis offenses. As it now stands, if Axis player does not make a rapid advance early in game, Russian receives enough reinforcements to stop the German cold. Scenario would benefit from some additional play testing and tweaking of OOBs, reinforcement schedules, and a reduction of the number of Russian commander and HQ units overall.

Germans took to long going around the Russian left flank which gave time for Russian reinforcements to get into position for the final battle.
