[This scenario is intended to be played with the Blitzkrieg EFII expansion pack installed] Location : South of Schwedt, near the Oder. Otto Skzorzeny, Hitler's favourite, was ordered to defend the city of Schwedt near the Oder. To do this he had very meagre forces. His mainstay in the defense was the 600 SS Fallschirmjäger Abteilung. When Skorzeny took over the sector he rounded up evreyone that could carry a rifle. By February 1, 1945. He had amassed some 15,000 troops to defend his sector of the Oder. But all his troops came from different branches of the army, navy and SS! He couldn't get any tanks or tankdestroyers to bolster his defenses, but instead he got command of XX PaK verband, a semi-motorised anti-tank battalion. When the Soviets crossed the Oder on February 9, he was very happy to see that his troops withstood the first (direct) assault. But after four years of hard combat, the Soviets had learned a thing or two and they probed the flanks of his defenses. South of Schwedt a Soviet Rifle regiment, supported by parts of a heavy tank brigade tried to get through the defenses and bypass the fortified area of Schwedt. When the troops defending this area heard the tank engines, they called for help and dug in even deeper.

A wonderful late war scenario that is best played blind. Lots of Soviet IS2's against well dug in German Infantry and AT guns.....plenty of Stategic options for the Russians...while the Germans must defend and retreat the best they can......

Too easy for the Sovs to build up a big Strentgh point advantage

I think the victory points need adjusting on this one to make it a little tougher for the Soviets.
Resolve then, that on this very ground, with small flags waving and tinny blasts on tiny trumpets, we shall meet the enemy, and not only may he be ours, he may be us. --Walt Kelly
