Spearhead44 - The Matrix Games version of East Front II

Ten days ago major elements of the 2nd Guards Tank Army crossed the Vistula river and established a large well defended bridgehead. Your job is to take command of 1st SS Panzer Corps with the 2nd and 9th SS Panzer Divisions, reinforced by Army level units from 1st Panzer Army, and wipe out that bridgehead before any more of 2nd Guards Tank Army manages to cross over. Unless you accomplish this mission this whole sector of the front will be ruptured beyond repair and our hold on Warsaw will be threatened. The Army G-2 reports that the bridgehead appears to be defended by the bulk of a Guards Rifle Division who occupy fortified positions just to the north of your leading Corps elements. Well to the rear of those fortified positions are what we believe to be most of a Guards Tank Division and some Army level units, which are being held in reserve waiting to repulse a counter attack they know they can expect from us. For this battle neither side has air supremacy so expect some air attacks.
