Odessa, Ukraine: [Best Played vs Human Opponent]: The last of the transport leaving the port of Odessa, carrying the last of the Russian survivors lucky enough to escape, during the afternoon of October 16th, 1941. Left behind to stall the Rumanians were heavy artillery and elements of the 421st Marine Infantry Division. These Marines dug themselves into fortified buildings and fought tooth and nail against the advancing Rumanians. The Rumanian 7. Infantry Division, the first to enter the city, would find itself capturing the port and Russian artillery and finally engaging itself in bitter street to street fighting before the Russian garrison would surrender by the end of the evening.
