30 August, 1941: The headlong advance to Leningrad by Panzergruppe 4 has slowed to an agonising crawl in the swampy forests southwest of the city. This scenario depicts the clash of two opposing groups of mobile recce formations trying to gain control of an area of crossroads and forest tracks around the village of Krivtetsk. The German forces, consisting of 56 Panzerkorps' armoured recce battalion supported by a few sturmgeschuetz, are trying to clear the road to Luga; while the Russian forces consisting of armoured cars, light tanks and cavalry aim to stop this advance dead in its tracks.
