This is version 1.03 of this scenario and is designed for team play.It will be a difficult scenario for the German players. Field Marshall Model has ordered the 47th Panzer Corps to break the Russian defense and sieze the high ground around Olkhovatka and Teploe. The initial advance on July 5 was lead by the 6th Infantry Division and the 20th Panzer Division and penetrated the first Russian defensive belt creating a lodgement about 15 km wide and 8 km deep. Central Front commander Gen Rokossovsky has ordered the 2nd Tank Army to launch a counter attack on the morning of July 6th with the aim of restoring the front to the original lines. All the units are fixed for turn one which will allow each side to set thier op-fire and give the Russians the chance to set the initial artillery barrage which occured at 3:50 am on July 6,1943. I have scaled the forces as follows. The Russians have two infantry regiments rather than parts of two infantry divisions and two tank corps making the three basic commands. The Germans have two full strength Panzer divisions and an Infantry division making the three basic commands. These steps were taken to streamline the OOB and make the scenario more playable under the CS system. Please look at this as an historical type novel. Most of the pieces were actually involved in the battle at one time or another.

My axis turned a minor defeat into a draw by 1 point on last shot. Soviets are very strong if played by a capable opponent, but I think there are opportunities for the axis player I didn't exploit playing blind. Fun scenario.
Resolve then, that on this very ground, with small flags waving and tinny blasts on tiny trumpets, we shall meet the enemy, and not only may he be ours, he may be us. --Walt Kelly
