Polevaya, 20km NW of Kharkov: [Best played against Human opponent] This is an adjusted version, for balanced H2H play, of Doug Bevard's original scenario "The Legacy of Kursk"...Following their failure and withdrawal from Kursk in July of 43, the German armies in the south of Russia again found themselves facing a crisis at Kharkov and along the Donets River. Prevented from reaching Kharkov from the east, the Soviets next tried their luck from the northwest. Except for a narrow corridor the city was now encircled. The famous 5th Guards Tank Army, led by the 12th Tank Brigade, hurled itself toward the hotly contested metropolis of the Donets Basin. Rushing to meet them near Polevaya, were elements of the decorated 3rd Panzer Division.
