Zsamek, 31km W of Budapest Hungary: [Best played against Human opponent] This is the first scenario is a series of scenarios dealing with Operation Konrad I, II, and III. December 1944 saw the 2nd and 3rd Ukranian Fronts encircle 70,000 troops of the 9th SS Gebirgs Korps in Budapest. Never one to shirk from a "prestige battle", Hitler ordered the 4th SS Panzer Korps from eastern Germany south to relieve Budapest. Operation Konrad I was launched early on New Years day 1945 spearheaded by the crack Waffen-SS panzer divisions "Totenkopf" and "Wiking" alongside numerous army panzer divisions. By the 4th the "Wiking" was outside the major road junction of Biscke. If the "Wiking" troops could capture the lateral road from Tynne to Biscke and the main road network beyond Biscke, German supply troubles and advance options would open greatly. However in their path stood the newly arrived 41st Guards Rifle Division with a strong network of anti-tank guns.
I've suffered heavy casulties in the 1st half, (got stopped dead in my tracks/ major loss) and after a total regroup and flanking mission still was able to turn it into a minor victory.
