von Seidlitz's Bridgehead - The Matrix Games version of East Front II

October 1943 -- During Army Group South's retreat to the Dnepr,
Kampfgruppe Von Seidlitz, made up of 14 Panzer Division's badly
mauled Panzer Regiment 28, Panzergrenadier Regiment 141.and
attached Engineer, Artillery and Flak units ( including all of
14 Pz division's surviving 22 tanks and 13 assault guns and tank
destroyers ), is retreating to the only remaining bridge over
the Dnestrov river at the small industrial city of Krezhorog.
Holding the crossing point are the remnants of I.Battalion Jaeger
Regiment 297 and assorted light Flak units. The roads to and
from the bridge are literally choked with rear-echelon traffic,
all trying desperately to get to the west and safety from the
pursuing units of the Russian 6th Mechanized Corps, hot on the
heels of the 14 Pz Divisions Kampfgruppen. To make matters worse
for General Otto Von Seidlitz, contact with XLVII Panzer Corps
has been lost just after the news had been radioed through that
Russian armoured units have already crossed the Dnestrov north
or south of Krezhorog and are wheeling inwards to capture the
town and cut off and surround the German troops. Now what?
