Pemienta, 23km NW of San Jose, Luzon, Philippines: [Best played against Human opponent] With the end of January 1945 approaching, the United States Sixth Army pushed out of its beachhead along Lingayen Gulf on Luzon, beginning the drive to Manila. Along the left flank, the 25th Infantry Division advanced towards San Jose from the northeast against light opposition. In many cases the advance was so fast that enemy troops were bypassed before either side became aware the other was near, leaving Japanese units to fight their way through the rear of the American frontline. Late on January 29th, the leading elements of the 27th RCT had just entered Pemienta and were preparing to halt for the night in the quite village. When tanks, infantry and support equipment were reported approaching from the rear along Highway 8. The commander of the 1st/27 Infantry Battalion was not alarmed. Assuming the promised tank support had finally arrived, LTC Harlow prepared to welcome the much-appreciated armor, when suddenly he realized he was looking at the silhouettes of Japanese T-97 medium tanks. Not the familiar slab-sided shapes of Shermans!

Great Map, but small, if Allied player does not know whats going on hen it is easy for an axis victory. But having played axis side, I dont know how it lookds for allied, seemed tough.

Axis player needs to read the briefing carefully

All good with an interesting setup for exit objectives but in the end the Axis player has difficulty exiting and/or holding the on map objectives which is how I came back at the end. I believe it's a great little scenario, and with either some victory level tweaking or reduction/elimination of the ON MAP objective values...this would be one of the best small RS scenarios I've played to date.

A win for the sneaky Japanese who dash to the side for escape....do not stay and fight as axis...just rush the escape hex.
