Butaritari-Walk of death - The Matrix Games version of Rising Sun

November 20, 1943 Butaritari Island; Makin Atoll. Admiral Turners Northern Attack Force brought up the 165th Regimental Combat Team, and a battalion from the 105th RCT (both of the 27th division) commanded by Major General Ralph C. Smith. They were supported by 8 Battleships,& Cruisers, 13 Destroyers, planes from one large, one medium, and three escort carriers. It seemed to be a ridiculously large Force, but constructing an airfield on Makin was needed. On the same date the Southern Attack Force headed for Tarawa Atoll. This scenario is compleatly Historical,except for some added Troops, & Leaders. The map of Butaritari is accurate. A very difficult map to duplicate from a rough drawing. The added troops are for a more exciting game, the Island is a chalenge to land troops on. Enjoy your walk of death.
