Wong Nei Chong Gap, Victoria, center of the Crown Colony of Hong Kong: [Best played as Allied] With the opening shots of the war in the Pacific, Japanese troops poured across the frontier in the only place where they faced Commonwealth troops. A defensive line, meant to hold them for weeks, fell apart in a matter of days. Hong Kong was itself destined to fall. On the morning of 19 December 1941, 2 days after Japanese troops had paddled across the harbour to invade the island of Hong Kong, 4 full battalions of invaders were poised to capture the key pass, the Wong Nei Chong Gap. The Gap was held valiantly by the Winnipeg Grenadiers, a very green, ill-equipped and under-trained Canadian infantry battalion. After the war, even though the fate of the colony had long since been sealed, General Maltby the garrison commander, placed the blame for its loss on these valiant defenders; thus tarnishing the honour of the only Canadian Army unit to serve in the Pacific. Moreover, Col. Shoji, the Japanese commander, offered an apology to his divisional commander for incurring such heavy casualties in the face of such few defenders. It seems more than Canadian honour was tarnished on this day.

The victory conditions are messed up. Playing as Axis it is a major victory before the start and only gets worse for the Allies as they take losses. Not sure if this is a mistake by the scenario designer.
“The past was erased, the erasure was forgotten, the lie became the truth.”― George Orwell (1984)
Victory conditions need to be changed. Canadians don't have a chance.
