The Main Event - The Matrix Games version of Rising Sun

Kamogawa, 70km SSE of Tokyo, Honshu Island, Japan: [Hypothetical; Best played as Allies] The final act of the war in the Pacific was to be the second landings on the home islands of Japan. Codenamed "Operation Coronet" these second landings were to be aimed at the heart of the Japanese Empire itself - Tokyo. Earmarked for these landings were the American 8th and 1st Armies, battle hardened veterans from the earlier Pacific campaigns and the war in Europe. Facing them and ready to embrace their doom were over 2 million regular Japanese soldiers and 28 million civilians hurriedly conscripted into local militias. This scenario simulates what may have happened on the beaches that fateful day in March 1946 as the lead American troops from the 27th Infantry Division hit the beaches.
