Black Panthers Take Tillet - The Matrix Games version of West Front

On 21 DEC 1944, Col Paton of the 58th Field Artillery along with the 420th Infantry Battalion held the town of Tillet. The Panzer Lehr Div with units of the 26th Volks Grenadiers had road into Tillet from the South block along with Town of Sprimont in the North. Paton's 105's were set up north of the town but Panzer Lehr had roving recon units assigned to probe for ways to take Tillet and cut off any chance for the US to resupply Bastogne. Fortunately for Paton the 761st Armor Battalion (the first US all Black Armor Battalion - The original Black Panthers) had set up in the forest west of town awaiting orders to move towards Bastogne. When Tillet was attacked by a Panzer Lehr Armor Battalion they went into action supporting Paton and keeping Tillet. Late in the battle additional forces from the 761st arrived as reenforcments coming in from the north side of the Outhro River and from the west Moircy. As part of this battle Team Yantis made up of a couple of Shermans and a few Stuart light tanks with engineers attacked and took the town of Amberloup allowing the US a foot hold on the way to resupply Bastogne.
