Bleijenbeek Castle - The Matrix Games version of West Front

Blijenbeek Castle, 100km NW of Cologne, Germany: [Best played as Allied] As the British Rhineland offensive continued to grind its way forward against increasing opposition, elements of 52nd Lowland Division and the 32nd Guards Brigade crossed the Maas at Gennep, 20km SE of Nijmegen. Their intention was to place increasing pressure on the flank of Goch, a heavily fortified road center and the heart of the German Westwall defenses in the area. The Germans stood their ground behind the heavy stone walls of Kasteel Blijenbeek, and it soon became obvious to the British that the defenders would only be broken by being blasted off the face of the earth.
