Breakout - The Matrix Games version of West Front

1944 august (Human Opponent or as Allies)Fictional Scenario.Scenario#2 of Eagle Series. Winston churchill was successfully abducted when the Eagle landed and held amongst other high ranks in a heavily fortified location.This location has been found and luckily agents have organised a daring escape with the help of French resistance.Partisans will be waiting outside the castle walls for the escapees and will be joined by an airdrop of US paratroopers to aide in finding safe passage to the river. River transport will be available to pick up the party on the bank at extraction point.Then way is to be made to the exit point.Only the units (pow's) rescued may be exited from map for points.Elements from 207th Armoured Battalion are in position to provide covering fire and support and if desired cross the river .Use of the bridge as an escape route is not recommended due to heavy units in the area.British airborne will drop at the bridgehead to seal off any german attempts to cross the river and if the chance arises even push further. There are reports of a secret meeting by german SS commanders nearby. If possible eliminate them on sight but be quick and get out. The nearby airfield has been firing V1 rockets towards our lines according to British operatives and if the opportunity arises take and hold this facility en route leaving a small team as security. Some more armour is being sent via the river to be landed as support for the mission. .Expect stiff resistance from the germans but suprise is on side initially. Note : units can only unload/load from heavy river transports on light blue water areas.Many ways this scenario can be won and i hope you enjoy. Even the castle itself may be a target for the most daring of commanders.Press shift for map references. Germans get steady releases of units as the word gets out and reinforcements from surrounding areas.
