Dochamps, Belgium [Best played H2H] The 1128th Volksgrenadiers won an honor for their road march from Heinerschied to Houffalize and were in high spirits when Oberst Rudolf Langhäuser, the 560th Volksgrenadier Division commander, gave the order to push Task Force Orr back to Amonines. At the base of the corridor around Dochamps, 1128th made an attack to widen the path northwest to the Ourthe crossing. Early on 21 December the volksgrenadiers collided with Task Force Orr while the latter was trying to eradicate the roadblock which barred the road up to Dochamps and Samrée. In a sharp action at a hairpin turn in the road, the German infantry infiltrated close enough to attack three tanks but took a beating instead from the American artillery. However the main attack would come at 0900, the following day on 22 December. As it happened a part of the German force had been pinned down by an attack against flank and rear thrown in by Task Force Kane, but this intelligence was unknown to Orr. The German commander, Oberst Schmidt, disengaged from Kane, put in his engineer battalion to hold Dochamps, then moved to the ridge east of the valley road and began the fire fight.

Very enjoyable small sized historical scenario from David Galster's scenario series centered around the 116th Panzer Division and 560th Volksgrenadier Division in the Bulge.
Mike Abberton
Total walkover for the Germans.

As the Germans against an opponent I consider to be on par with my skill level, the scenario was effectively over by half-way through. If I had really pushed and while Ed defended the objective areas to the last, I probably could have killed every single American unit on the map. It wasn't necessary, though, since I already had a Major Victory in the bag (by mid-game). And this was all with keeping a several companies of infantry completely out of the fight for the entire scenario because they weren't needed at all. In my opinion, this scenario would be better suited for play as Allies against the AI.
