Near St.Pois, France [H2H]:[HIS] Operation Cobra smashed through
German defenses and everywhere west of the Vire, VII Corps was
on the move. The 4th Infantry Division, reinforced with 3rd Armored
CCB, set its sights on capturing St. Pois. They hoped to move
quickly and take key road junctions before the German defenses
could materialize. The 116th Panzer Division had been hastily
withdrawn from the line near Tessy on August 1st to counter the
American thrust toward Brécey, but progress was slow with 'Jabos'
continually harassing their columns. Earlier, Panzer Kampfgruppe
Lueder was ordered to move southwest toward Villedieu, and was
somewhat isolated. The 60. Panzergrenadier Regiment, with 24.
Regiment Panthers reached an area east of St. Pois and then turned
and attacked westward, to link up with KG Lueder. With the combined
force, the Germans sought to destroy the pursuing American forces.
With P-47 Thunderbolts ruling the skies, GIs marched confidently
eastward, hoping for a breakout. The rat-a-tat of machine guns
sound as the troops approach the next bocage, flushing out any
last German holdouts. Scouts signal the 'all clear,' and Shermans
with 'hedgerow cutters' tear into the dense entanglements and
finally make an opening. And then, "KA-POWWW!!!" The lead Sherman
tank bursts into flames when an armor-piercing shell from a Panther
finds its mark. Barely heard above the sound of cannon shells
screaming downward, Sarge yells "Get down!!" Another major tank
battle is about to begin!

Bloody battle with an interesting LOS :-) Not sure about the balance, maybe a bit in favour for the allies.
Germans must go on the defense immediately and watch for LOS as americans are loaded and looking for trouble!
If you want an accurate depiction of armored warfare in Normandy, this is the scenario for you. The Germans are outnumbered by the Americans, and because of the terrain also can't take advantage of the long-range guns on their tanks. If, on the other hand, you want a fun scenario that's reasonably fair for both sides, look elsewhere.
