First Action - The Matrix Games version of West Front

[ Historical Scenario ] On 30th July, 1944 the 15th (Scottish) Division, supported by the 6th Guards Tank Brigade, broke through south of Caumont l'Eventé, where the front was weakly held by hte 326th Infanterie Division and made a deep penetration south. The plan was to secure the N 175 road, so no German reinforcements could attack the flank of the penetration. The 3rd Scottish Grenadiers where ordered to drive south and secure Point 228 which overlooked the road. All remained quiet and no resistance was encountered for a while untill suddenly tanks began exploding everywhere!! From the slopes of the hill a few Jagdpanthers of 654.s.Jpz.Abt. had broken cover and fired at the unsuspecting Churchills of the leading squadron. This unit was new to the Normandy front and was only partially equiped with these magnificent tankhunters but their first action was a very succesfull one as they nearly wiped out an entire squadron! Parts of the unit were subordinated to a quickly formed alarmeinheit formed from units of 326 infanterie and 21st Panzer who were ordered to secure the flanks of the penetration.
